When God Speaks...

...it is an awesome thing. I am posting this blog just minutes after posting the previous blog. I was so angry after posting it... tears actually filled my eyes. I am so happy that I didn't go to bed after publishing it.

I decided to surf friends blogs to see what was on their minds, when I came across Lisa P's blog. There was a link under her list of blogs to read, that had caught my eye. Normally, I only read the blogs of people I know. However in this case, God led me to do something out of the ordinary.

A blog called "Stuff Christians Like" caught my eye for the first time. So, I clicked it and this is what I found: # 375. Forgetting Who We Are. Sometimes, I don't feel like I'm 31, and after reading this blog, I felt like the three-year-old in me wanted to pour out of my eyes.

After wiping away my tears it occurred to me that I should delete the previous post and chalk it up to an answered prayer. However, I concluded that the power behind this testimony can only be realized if the whole story stays intact.

So, here I am before you sitting in awe, embracing the power of a changed perspective, humbled by God's activity in my life, and freed from the scars of indifference. God's grace is sufficient for me. I can endure these stripes, arise victorious, and teach my children to do the same.

that's funny, because i was posting at the same time after reading your blog.

i know anger isn't good when it eats you up. but we need to hear truth. we need to talk about difficult issues. we need to realize that oppression on many levels exists.

so i hope you keep talking about it. yes, it is uncomfortable, but so necessary.

Your previous post makes me think a lot, because truthfully I sometimes am one of those white people that just don't get it. I try not to see people for their race, but for who God made them. So when controversy like this comes up, I just kinda shake my head and sometimes I don't REALLY understand. A few times Rebecca has had to point things out to me. I have to admit, I am very aware of history and try to be sensitive to a people group that have long been suffering.....but because of my limited experience it can be hard for me to wrap my head and heart around it. BUt I am working on it.
Your post made me really think.....I had been really excited about this movie. For the most part I really like all the characters in it and it had looked really funny. Robert Downey's character may not be meaning to making fun of black people but rather the actors themselves who go thru drastic measures to get accolades......but it obviously does still hurt others and cuts deep to their hearts.

So thank you for sharing your heart.....I may not go see and support the movie after all......

I so appreciate your honesty and your perspective. You make me think. Although I don't know a whole lot about the movie, I don't think I would have realized that it would be hurtful without your comments. Thank you for making me more aware. And to reference a previous post, your willingness to be honest and vulnerable is indeed a strength and I agree that there is power in your testimony. So, please, keep sharing.

Thanks for your writing and sharing your deepest thoughts and concerns. And your encouragement on my blog was much needed -- i do feel a stirring, for years now, finding who I really am, what I'm passionate about. I love reading others passions, having good deep discussions. Good to reconnect, if only via blog.

Hi everyone. Thank you for your outpouring of support. I'm realizing that I have some unforgiveness that I'm harboring. God's bringing a lot of it to the surface so that I can address it. I appreciate your words of affirmation.

Jen, actually the idea came from Sarah Lyons. After visiting her blog a few times, I decide to do a blogger search: add music to blog.

Blogger outlines the steps for you. All you have to do is find a third party music service that hosts the song that you want (I use imeem), then follow the steps for adding it to your blog.

Hope that this helps.
